The Durham BeeKeepers Association (opens in a new window) brought an observational hive to the Durham Farmers’ Market (opens in a new window) on Saturday, June 22nd, and visitors enjoyed watching the bees working. We discussed everything from the likelihood of being stung by a honeybee to the uncertainty of colony collapse disorder. The children enjoyed trying to locate the one drone bee in the hive.
